What do you attribute your success to? She attributes her success to the fact that she enjoys learning new things, working with people and being in an industry that is always changing.
How did you get involved in your profession? She became involved in her profession through her background as a general manager and corporate trainer in the restaurant industry. She deeply enjoyed training employees, and after working in a series of support positions, she found out that Wild Oats Markets was looking for an HR manager. She realized that this position involved many of the same functions she'd enjoyed as a corporate trainer, applied for the position, and the rest is history.
Where will you be in five years? In five years, Ms. Boyd intends to stay entrenched in the operations and business side of the industry. She would like to work in the role of president of human resources.
